Balan Kashmir is an emcee, rapper and a record label owner. Vibrant, eclectic, multi-lingual rap musician and ambitious like Gandhi. He has worked as a solo rapper / song writer with many established names and upcoming acts which he was privileged to meet and greet along his years of climbing the ladder of success. He has written alongside local and international acts such as KLG Sqwad, Pete Teo, Joe Flizzow, Elvira Arul, Sasi The Don, Saran Narayanan, Deepen Chakravathy, Phlowtron, MC Syze & DJ Biggie, Chakrasonic, DA MONSTA, Rabbit Mac, MC SAI and Tha Mystro from United Kingdom and others talents throughout the years.

Kashmir was blessed with the opportunity to work with Malaysian producers such as Dnavigator, Damian Shorty Soul, ILLegal, Jamie Wilson, Switch Lock Up, ADK of Sri Lanka, DJ Uno and DJ Fuzz as the years passed.
Doing his part for the local music scene, Kashmir had a hand in co-organizing a major unity project which involved some 50 Malaysian musicians, actors and actresses dubbed Malaysian Artistes for Unity headed by Pete Teo. He was featured in the theme song and video which was directed by the late Yasmeen Ahmad and two government related projects: Zoom Malaysia theme song and a video for Tourism Malaysia in 2008 as well as ‘Satu Suara’theme song and a video for the Kementerian Belia and Sukan in 2009. He has released two independent Tamil releases (Maria & One Two), one joint Tamil album with AIM winning producer, Illegal (ILLegally Macha), one in house duo album guided by Dnavigator (Dr.Sakthi & Balan Kashmir) and one mixtape (Beats, Rhymes & Life) under his label, Starrsound Asia since 2010. He has almost done 25 songs under his name and featured in more than 35 songs.

Balan Kashmir has roped in his long time producer and business partner in Starrsound Asia, Dnavigator to start work on his solo album and is currently performing live shows and running a sportsbar in Petaling Jaya, 88 Shooters. He has performed more than 150 shows in most major capitals in Malaysia and in countries like Singapore, Indonesia, London, Amsterdam, Switzerland, India, and Thailand. His live performing ethics has crossed him beyond the language barrier no matter where he goes in this world, he gets it done through thick and thin. Bumping beats with witty lines and commercial appeal, Balan Kashmir had this going on for years.
